Anti-Hyperon Enhancement through Baryon Junction Loops

چکیده
The baryon junction exchange mechanism recently proposed to explain valence baryon number transport in nuclear collisions is extended to study midrapidity anti-hyperon production. Baryon junction-antijunction (JJ̄) loops are shown to enhance Λ̄, Ξ̄, Ω̄ as well as lead to long range rapidity correlations. Results are compared to recent WA97 PbPb → Y Ȳ X data. 25.75.-q,24.10.Lx Typeset using REVTEX

Strange Baryon Production From Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions at the AGS, SPS and RHIC
We will present a review of selected results on strange baryon production from nucleus-nucleus collisions at the AGS, SPS and RHIC. From the AGS and SPS heavy ion physics program several intriguing aspects: centrality dependence of strangeness production, anti-hyperon yield, hyperon production enhancement and baryon number transport will be highlighted. Our discussion on RHIC results will focus...
متن کاملBaryon Junction Stopping at the SPS and RHIC via HIJING/B
Baryon stopping at the SPS and RHIC energies is calculated by introducing a new baryon junction mechanism into HIJING. The exchange of a baryon junction, according to Regge phenomenology, leads to a cosh[(y− yCM)/2] rapidity dependence and an 1/ 4 √ s energy dependence of the inclusive baryon cross section. This baryon junction dynamics also leads naturally to enhanced pT broadening in pA and A...
متن کاملBaryon Number Transport via Gluonic Junctions
A novel non-perturbative gluon junction mechanism is introduced within the HIJING/B nuclear collision event generator to calculate baryon number transport and hyperon production in pA and AA collisions. This gluonic mechanism can account for the observed large mid-rapidity valence baryon yield in Pb + Pb at 160 AGeV and predicts high initial baryon densities at RHIC. However, the highly enhance...
متن کاملEffective Hamiltonian Approach to Hyperon Beta Decay with Final-State Baryon Polarization
Using an effective Hamiltonian approach, we obtain expressions for hyperon β decay final-state baryon polarization. Terms through second order in the energy release are retained. The resulting approximate expressions are much simpler and more compact than the exact expressions, and they agree closely with them. متن کاملThe Okubo relation for the baryon magnetic moments and chiral perturbation theory
We analyze the Okubo SU(3) relation among the hyperon magnetic moments in the usual scheme of chiral perturbation theory (ChPT). We find a simple way to classify one-loop diagrams, including those with intermediate decuplet baryons, according to whether or not they satisfy the Okubo relation. Contrary to the conventional wisdom, one-loop contributions to the hyperon magnetic moments in general ...
